Where they started.

A high‑impact mission was being held back by a slow, inflexible website. The platform lacked the speed, clarity, and reliability that urgent communication and large‑scale outreach demand.

When your work is connecting veterans in crisis to jobs, housing, healthcare, and family, a website that cannot keep up is not an inconvenience. It is a missed connection at the worst possible moment.

What we found, what we built,
what changed.

The audit came first.

A UX and performance audit mapped what supporters, donors, and veterans actually need from the site, and where the old platform failed them.

Decision: rebuild on a fast, reliable WordPress foundation engineered for high traffic and urgent communication, with a scalable information architecture that gives every program a clear home.

Result: a platform that holds steady through campaign surges instead of buckling at the moment of maximum attention.

Built for the people who run the mission.

Decision: a staff‑managed platform with ongoing strategic leadership from Waypoint, so the technology keeps pace as programs grow.

Non‑technical staff publish updates, run high‑volume campaigns, and share urgent messages without waiting on developers. Programs like CPFS Mobile, Helping Heroes Home®, and Minutes That Matter each get a clear path from the homepage to action.

Result: the team manages content confidently under pressure, and outreach moves at the speed the mission needs.

Design decisions, live in production.

  • Two front doors, one hero: DONATE and REQUEST sit side by side, because the audience is both givers and veterans who need help.
  • A 3,000‑location network, findable: the drop‑off map turns a logistics operation into a two‑click search.
  • Programs as products: CPFS Mobile, Helping Heroes Home®, Minutes That Matter, and the Evergreen Program each get a clear page and path to action.
  • Proof in the footer: Charity Navigator Four‑Star badge, financials page, and the “Powered by Waypoint” credit, all one click away.

The workflow behind the curtain.

The staff‑run publishing experience is the deliverable the speed comes from: campaigns, alerts, and program content managed without a developer.

Where the platform meets a person.

Every campaign the site carries ends somewhere like this: a veteran walking out with a working phone, a year of service, and a line back to family, work, and care. That handoff is what the infrastructure exists for.

The site is live right now at cellphonesforsoldiers.com, down to the “Powered by Waypoint” credit in the footer.
